Treatments
At Eternal Crane Wellness, LLC we use a variety of treatment options that is best suited for the individual. The main treatment method is acupuncture, which is the insertion of tiny needles into specific points of the body. Acupuncture increases blood flow, regulates the immune system, decreases inflammation, and has been shown to regulate hormone and other chemical mediators throughout the body.
Besides acupuncture we also may suggest cupping, gua sha, or tui na to our patients. These three methods are all forms of bodywork that can increase circulation and decrease pain. Cupping is the act of using a vacuum sealed cup to pull lactic acid out of a patient's muscles while also stretching the muscle. Gua sha is a method of bodywork where the acupuncturist uses a blunt instrument to scrape along the edges of a patient's muscles. This increases circulation and like cupping can free lactic acid from the muscles which decreases muscle pain. Finally tui na is a form of traditional Chinese massage that the acupuncturist may use on a few acupuncture points or areas after your needles are removed. All of these treatments are based on whether the acupuncturist thinks they are necessary and are provided free of charge.
Finally the acupuncturist may recommend Chinese herbal supplements to his patients. Herbs provide a way for the patient to maintain treatment throughout the week thus increasing the effects of treatment and decreasing the total number of treatments needed. Herbs are individually priced.
